The exhibition is held as part of the 27th International Conference on Nursing Philosophy, organized by the Department of Nursing at the University of Ioannina, under the title: "Wondering about Nursing: the bedrock of nursing philosophy," on September 11-13, 2024, at the "Karolos Papoulias" Conference Center, University of Ioannina.
The exhibition will be open to visitors during the conference dates (September 11–13, 2024).
In ancient Dodona, Greece’s first oracle, priestesses interpreted the secrets of Mother Earth and the messages of Dodonian Zeus by listening to the sounds of the leaves of the sacred oak and reading the signs of nature. The Pleiades, also known as sacred doves, symbols of peace and spiritual purity, safeguarded the sanctity of the space, ensuring the connection between humanity and the divine was preserved. Through their devotion, Dodona remained a sanctuary where souls sought guidance and peace.
In modern times, care continues to be the sacred principle that unites societies, bridging relationships between people, nature, and the divine. This primordial and unbroken care still lives and breathes in the everyday life of Epirus.
Care is supporting the patient, a child’s call to protect the environment, the tender touch of a grandchild to their grandfather in the hospital, the music that heals and soothes the soul, the preservation of tradition, and the cultivation of art.
This timeless care is the thread that has continuously woven human civilization, connecting people to their roots and the universe that surrounds them.
